I returned Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to gamestop. They said they don't take returns on PC games. I told the guys at gamestop what was going on with this game and how I paid over $50 dollars to stare at the box.
I wasn't pissed off. I wasn't a jerk. I simply explained to them the situation and asked them what they thought about it. The guy there at the store took my receipt and game and gave me CASH back. I imagine if all 100 thousand people who bought the game in Texas marched into game stop with their broken copies they wouldn't accept the return. I'm probably one of the few lucky guys out there.
Seriously though, there needs to be some regulation on the gaming industry. Sure they don't want to do PC versions. How much more easy it is to optimize the game for one or two systems like XBOX or Playstation 3. They can also charge about an extra $10 bucks for some easy console money.
This was my first Battlefield purchase and my last. I'm sure it's a great game, but man, too many other games coming out in the next few months that will be kicking booty and you guys will be lucky if they've even gotten around to fixing all the problems.
The sickest thing about this, is they aren't telling people about the known issues so that they don't buy the game right now. They are letting people keep buying and buying and all they are able to do is stare at the box or icon in steam and not even play the game. They should be forced to add a warning label and fax all the game distributors to warn people before buying the game. Just like they do to smokers.
"THIS GAME IS BROKEN. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY IT UNTIL THEY FIX IT. IT MAY IMPOSE A SERIOUS RISK TO YOUR HEATLY DUE TO STRESS RELATED ISSUES. PLEASE CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE ALLOWING US TO BEND YOU OVER AND DO YOU FROM BEHIND".
